Good copies are due on Tuesday Nov 13. Students have had class time to made additions/corrections based on the feedback I've given them, so they must now finish it at home if it wasn't completed today.

We have been doing a lot of preparation and we will start writing the online Math portion next week. I have strongly suggested students practice on their own in addition to our class review.
The online and booklet sample test questions, as well as possible responses can be found at: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/education-training/administration/kindergarten-to-grade-12/assessment/foundation-skills-assessment/fsa-samples School District: Yukon PEN: any 9 digit number (ex. 123456789) Sample Assessment: Num7English We have some fun coming up next week! Students are asked to bring a clean glass jar (no labels) to class on Monday for an art project. A medium size jar (jam, pickles, etc) is preferable.
We are also having a grade 4-7 dance and costume contest in the afternoon of the 31st! Dress to impress in your Halloween costume finest! The teachers have to go to class, so the students don't! Have a great extra long weekend and see you on Monday.
The schedule is finally out! Games will be on Mondays after school 3:30-4:30ish, and the first one is Monday Oct 1.
Boys will be playing at Golden Horn, Girls will be playing at home vs. Jack Hulland. Go Hurricanes! Grade 6 needed to do a trade so we are swimming Wednesday morning. Students NEED a signed form to go on the bus, so please sent it so they can come with the class. The Terry Fox run is also scheduled for 1:30pm Wednesday afternoon, so keep fundraising!
The first dance for grade 7 is happening this Friday Sept 21st at Selkirk, from 7-10pm. Permission forms and $5 fee is due by Friday at lunch. For pick up, parents will have to come inside to confirm with the chaperone (Mr. Hupe) that they are collecting their child(ren).
The first volleyball tournament of the year has once again arrived! Please look at the information and schedule that was sent home with players.
To reiterate, PARENTS are responsible for getting players to, and from, the CGC. Girls need to be there by 9am, boys by 9:30am, and everyone must be picked up at 2:30pm at the latest. Gym clothes, water, lunch/snacks are needed. Is happening next Friday Sept 21. Forms will be sent home on Monday, and need to be returned by Wed Sept 19th at noon.
We've been busy bee's making our ISN's (interactive student notebooks) for Math. We want our basic skills strong and sharp before we build on them with new content, so we've reviewed 3 digit multiplication, long division, and exponents. Students, share with your parents how you feel its going. Or parents, ask your student about how they feel they are doing with the content, and what their ISN has in it!
